The WellenFeld H104 at TU-Berlin is located in a lecture hall in the main building on the TU campus. The hall is mainly used for lectures, but since 2007 various presentations as well as electroacoustic concerts have been given there.

The room has a size of about 25 times 25 meters. In the front of the room is a stage with a size of about 15 times 5 meters. The auditorium holds seats for 644 people. Because the seats in the back are elevated, the heigth of the room varies from seven to three meters. The reverberation time is below 1 second.

The room is surrounded by an array of 832 loudspeakers mounted at ear level which are used for wavefieldsynthesis (WFS). The WFS-system can synthesize up to 42 virtual soundsources located inside and outside the room. Audio is fed into the system in realtime, where the sound of one audiochannel represents the sound of one source. The position of the sources can be controlled in realtime using either the softwares GUI or OSC-messages sent from Supercollider.

The WFS presentation will be organized in cooperation with the Audio Communication Group of the Technische Universität Berlin.
